Make money with drawing:
Wall Murals
Back to Articles and Tutorials

Another great way to make money is childrens
wall murals. There are many children out there who are fascinated with the most recent Disney or Pixar film,
not to mention that thousands of little girls who always seem to like ballet or the thousands of boys who
always seem to like Cowboys and Indians. By offering your services to paint childrens wall murals you give
yourself another opportunity to have some income. Here are 3 ideas to start you off on wall murals...
Now where do I go to line up a job for wall
murals?
1) Make sure when you start drawing to earn income you include
information on your different projects on a blog, website, business cards, and invoices. You might also get
some shirts made listing all the work you've done so far and include the line “... AND MORE!!!” at the bottom
of every list. Sure enough you will add to the list of things you can do and you don't want to have to change
your blog, website, business cards, invoices and t-shirts every time you come up with something new.
2) A great place to start is some of the local places youth get
together, like the library, churches, boys & girls club, YMCA, etc. You can offer to do a free mural for
them, showing off your work. Make sure to have an idea of what you might do and where it might go before
offering your free service. When they agree, do a great job because this will be lasting advertising. Make sure
to clearly include your name and a 1 line contact info somewhere on the mural... and as a friendly piece of
advice, don't make that info the main banner of the mural.
3) Another step is to do a mural in your own home (it's always a
good idea to practice first), take pictures, and go to the children's stores and furniture stores in the area.
People who buy nice new furniture are more likely to be able to afford your services. If you can get them to
post your information somewhere – or at least hold on to it at their front desk, it might drive some work your
way.
Conclusion
As people get to know you and your work you will get more business. Just
keep working at it and don't give up. Remember that there is no get rich quick scheme. As an
additional help to you, here's another tip - you can also promote this idea well if you also do
seasonal window paintings. The two ideas can easily feed off of one
another.
