Make money with drawing:
Business Networking
Back to Articles and Tutorials
One of the first things to do to start
making money is letting people know you're doing business. If they don't know, then they certainly wont hire
you.
There are some organizations like your local Chamber of Commerce (CoC) and the Better
Business Bureau (BBB) which can help get your business recognized quickly. This will give you a quick boost into
the business community. You might even be able to do work for those organizations once they know your skills,
services, and abilities... I know I have.
The CoC will inform you of other businesses you might be able to work with and also
any community events where you will be able to drum up more work and get some local notoriety. It's also good to be
associated with the BBB since their members are a recognized standard of trust and reliability. As a note, each
organization generally has fees – but I have found the benefits greatly outweigh the costs.
Making money with drawing isn't impossible – but it takes time and effort. Like any
business, you should expect to incur expenses like magazine subscriptions, travel expenses, advertising, and the
like. Among my expenses have been supporting groups like the CoC and the BBB. Undoubtedly I have received more
business from these sources than what it has cost me. Plus, being a part of organizations like these lead to other
benefits as well, including teaching opportunities, speaking engagements, and business networking- all of which can
increase your sales potential.
Until next time!
